For about the last 6 years I have been following my favorite karaoke host/bartender around to different venues.
Sometimes when we stop and look at what the crowd has become the talk sometimes drifts back to the “old crowd”. It was a time when real karaoke talent came out to sing…frequently.
These days it seems hard enough just to hire good hosting talent that draws something besides a bunch of drunk kids howling into a Mic as loud as humanly possible.
The environment just has not been feeling like the way it used to. I suppose I have changed as well.
In addition, life has introduced new directions and views that leave me looking around and reassessing what it is that I really am doing and what I hope to gain and give to and from this life as I try not to just be a “taker”.
I suppose I’m just getting older and starting to see things differently.
I’ve often considered just what it is I’m here on this planet because I wInt to leave a lasting mark for the better.
Maybe it’s just the rum writing tonight…maybe it’s a turning point. Either way, I’m seeing things in different light.
My friend and I laugh as the host destroys…in a bad way…a song and she knows that while I come to visit it’s not so much for the “amazing talent” as much it’s the company.
